Susceptibility tests

Susceptibility tests should only be performed on well isolated colonies of similar appearance that are considered significant according to the guidelines presented above. Susceptibility tests are generally more important on cultures obtained from patients who are hospitalized or have a history of recurring UTI. Cultures from patients seen in the clinic with a primary UTI may not require a susceptibility test.
